FRUITS OF OUR MOTHER’S LABOR

Photographic Print series | Various Years

Fruits of Our Mother's Labor is a series created in Montego Bay,  Jamaica,  that explores how produce cultivated from the landscape can serve as icons and representations of our cultural identity and heritage. It explores Masculine and Feminine Iconography in everyday Caribbean life. Our narratives and roots are celebrated through food we grow, nurture, and eat; and the cuisines that tell our stories.  This series builds upon the notion that landscape shapes identity and that identity also molds the landscapes we inhabit.
